Easy Grape Salad Recipe (1)

This Grape Salad recipe is made with just seven simple ingredients. It consists of fresh grapes, a cheesecake-like dressing, and a brown sugar/crunchy pecan topping.

It’s also a great recipe to use the fresh red grapes or green grapes when they come into season and are plentiful in the grocery store.

Since you can make this creamy grape salad recipe ahead of time (notes below), it’s an easy side dish or dessert for barbecues, potlucks, cookouts, and more. And it’s always a huge hit!

Ingredient notes and substitutions

  • Grapes: Feel free to use seedless red grapes or seedless green grapes or a combination of the two.
  • Greek yogurt: You can use 0%, 2%, or full-fat plain Greek yogurt. Sour cream (full-fat sour cream or lite sour cream) can also be used. I don’t recommend using fat-free sour cream.
  • Cream cheese: Full-fat, reduced-fat, or Greek yogurt-style cream cheese will work. I don’t recommend using fat-free.
  • Granulated sugar (white sugar)
  • Vanilla extract
  • Brown sugar: Light or dark brown sugar will work.
  • Pecans:Pecans can be omitted.

Recipe Tips!

  • Flexible recipe: This recipe is really flexible! Please check out the ingredient notes and substitutions above for ideas on customizing the recipe.
  • Making this salad for kids: Grapes are a potential choking hazard for small kids. I highly recommend cutting the whole grapes into halves or quarters if serving to younger kids.

Recipe FAQs

Can you make grape salad ahead of time?

You can! I think that it’s best served chilled, so I make the salad either the day before or the morning that I plan to serve it.
If you’re making this salad ahead of time, you’ll want to use crisp grapes. Also, wait until just before serving it to add the brown sugar and the pecans. Otherwise, the pecans can lose their crunch

Can I omit the nuts?

You can! Feel free to omit the nuts on top of the grape salad.

Looks like a great dish to serve with the rotisserie chicken I have in the fridge. In this hot weather it is so hard to come up with meals that don’t require turning on my stove. Thanks so much.

This sounds perfect for summer! I could see adding a few different types of fruit to this; such as a watermelon grape salad. I’ll definitely have to try this out!

This looks and sounds so good! I feel incredibly silly to ask, but would this normally be eaten as a side dish or dessert? I’ve never seen anything like it here in the UK. I’m intrigued!

Thanks! It’s not silly. It’s normally a side, but, since it’s sweet, we usually eat it for dessert. If you have any other questions, please let me know! =)
