Sheridan HS Soccer: The Sheridan High School boys soccer team announced their presence to the rest of the state this past weekend.
On Friday, the Broncs did what no other 4A East team has been able to do so far this season, and that was beat Cheyenne Central.
Not only did they do that, they did it in shutout fashion at home 3-nil.
The boys then followed up that win with a 4-1 victory on Saturday at home vs. Cheyenne East.
As far as the game against Central went, before the game, the Indians had only given up 2 goals all season, and had yet to trail in a game.
Junior Kelten Crow says the plan was simple.
Put the opposition in a spot they had yet to experience and watch them fall apart.
As for the Sheridan girls, they won on Friday at Cheyenne Central 2-0, but lost on Saturday at Cheyenne East 1-0.
This week is the last week of the regular season.
Tomorrow, Sheridan is scheduled to play Campbell County.
The boys will play their home finale, while the girls are on the road.
Then on Friday, both Sheridan teams play at Thunder Basin.
Sheridan County HS Track and Field: Sheridan, Big Horn, Tongue River, and Arvada-Clearmont all competed at a meet in Buffalo this past Friday.
Big Horn senior Gavin Stafford pulled double duty that day.
First he competed on Big Horn’s 4 by 100 meter relay team at Buffalo, then got himself down to Casper to compete in the Wyoming Track Classic, where he won both the boys 100 meter dash and boys long jump events.

Sheridan Troopers Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers split weekend home games this past weekend.
On Saturday, the first game went 10 innings and the Casper Oilers would prevail in a non-conference game 5-4.
In the second game, Sheridan was a bit short-handed due to prom commitments, and got beat up by the Billings Scarlets 10-1.
Yesterday the Troopers rebounded by beating the Billings Royals 7-4, and then won a non-conference rematch vs. Casper, by the same 7-4 score.
Sheridan is now 4-6 on the season, and will host the 406 Flyers out of Billings for 2 games on Saturday and 1 on Sunday.
Sheridan Lacrosse: The Sheridan Maverick boys team split games on Saturday at Cody vs. 2 different teams from Bozeman.
They dropped the first game 6-4, and won the second game 8-7.
The team will rematch the Bozeman team that they beat this coming Friday at Bozeman.
As for the Lady Mavericks, they went 2-1 in their games played at Missoula.
They beat Bozeman 9-7, lost to Billings 11-10 and beat Jackson 7-5.
The team next plays Jackson again on Friday at Bozeman, and will play the host team on Saturday.
Denver Broncos NFL Draft: The 2024 draft was held this past weekend and the Denver Broncos came away with 7 picks overall.
The team drafted quarterback Bo Nix out of Oregon, defensive end Jonah Elliss from Utah, Wide receiver Troy Franklin from Oregon, cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine from Missouri, running back Audric Estime from Notre Dame, wide receiver Devaughn Vele from Utah and offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo from South Carolina.
MWC/UW NFL Draft: A total of 2 players from Mountain West Conference teams heard their name called this past weekend.
In round 5, defensive lineman Mohamed Kamara of Colorado State was selected by Miami, and in round 7 free safety Trey Taylor of Air Force was picked by Las Vegas.
Four Wyoming Cowboys signed undrafted free agent agreements.
Offensive tackle Frank Crum signed with the Denver Broncos, wide receiver Ayir Asante with the New York Giants, linebacker Easton Gibbs with Seattle and tight end Treyton Welch with Cleveland.
Two other former UW players have been invited to mini-camps with the New York Jets, Kansas City and Tennessee.
Those players are quarterback Andrew Peasley and defensive tackle Cole Godbout.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies dropped a pair of games in Mexico City vs. the Houston Astros.
On Saturday, they lost 12-4.
Ryan McMahon hit a 2-run home run in that game.
Yesterday, the Rocks lost 8-2.
Colorado is now 7-21 on the season.
The team is off today and will begin a 6-game road trip tomorrow, with 3 games at Miami, followed by 3 games at Pittsburgh.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets were unable to finish the sweep of the LA Lakers back on Saturday, as the team lost 119-108 at LA.
Denver still leads the series 3-1, and have another chance to close out the series tonight at home.
Tip off is scheduled for 8pm.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are waiting for the winner of that series, because last night the team completed a 4-game sweep of Phoenix, to move onto the second round.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche took advantage of home ice in their first round best of 7 series vs. Winnipeg.
On Friday, the Avs won game 3 6-2 and won again yesterday in game 4 5-1, to take a 3-1 series lead.
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at Winnipeg.
If the Avs lose, they would host Game 6 on Thursday.
