SSR movies have enthralled audiences with their larger-than-life narratives, captivating characters, and breathtaking visual effects.
SSR Movies 2001 To 2008: SS Rajamouli’s Early Directorial Ventures, SSRMovies Old List
SSR First Movie – Simhadri
SS Rajamouli’s journey as a director began with his debut movie “Student No. 1”. It had Jr NTR as the hero and was released in the year 2001. This youthful entertainer marked the emergence of a promising talent in Telugu cinema. The film showcased SSR’s way of storytelling in blending elements of romance, action and drama together.
High Voltage Action Centric SSRMovies
In the following years, SSR continued to showcase his versatility with high voltage hero centric movies like “Simhadri” (2003) and “Chatrapathi” (2005). These films not only achieved grand commercial success but also garnered critical acclaim for their engaging narratives and impactful performances.
SSRMovies With The Then Upcoming Heros
Later he made some low budget movies with emerging actors like Nithin, Ravi Teja and Sunil. These movies namely Sye, Vikramarkudu and Maryada Ramanna are not visually rich. He attracted the audience through his story telling in these movies. He added an extra dose of heart touching emotional scenes and comedy.
Maryada Ramanna: An SSRMovie That Proved His Stardom
After attaining fame as the top most director with Magadheera, Rajamouli announced a film with the then comedian Sunil in his friend’s banner. It is said that Rajamouli tested his stardom through this film. Many questioned that can a director’s name pull audience to the theaters.
However, Rajamouli started on low note with strict budget constraint and timeline. Maryada Ramanna is the lowest budget movie in Rajamouli’s career after attaining star director fame. One of the schedule of Maryada Ramanna was shot continuously in Gandikota and small villages around Proddatur town Kadapa district for 35 days. And the other schedule was shot in Hyderabad studio for 40 days.
His brand name attracted audience to the theaters and ended as one more super hit in SSR movies list. It is a lesser known fact that the amount earned through the remake rights of Maryada Ramanna is even more than the actual budget of the movie. The producer has earned multiple times through this movie. However, Rajamouli’s remuneration was not added in the budget as some say he made it freely for his friend under Vaarahi productions.
Both Vikramarkudu and Maryada Ramanna movies were remade in Hindi. Maryada Ramanna was remade in Hindi as Son Of Sardar which has Ajay Devgn as the lead. Vikramarkudu was remade as Rowdy Rathore by Prabhu Deva which has Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha as the lead. Both the movies were also super hit in Hindi language.
